Unix Architect (m/f) (289)

Tasks

In this role you are responsible for the professional implementation and a stable operation of a remarkable number of low to high range business critical Unix servers. This includes the installation, engineering and operation of systems of the latest technology, managing and optimizing their performance, handling large amounts of data, guaranteeing high throughput into a SAN, ensuring the service availability by configuring clusters in redundant locations, implementing procedures for monitoring, backup and recovery, planning the system capacity, project consulting for internal customers, sizing new server environments, suggesting possibilities for improvements.

Profile

• Technical education or university paired with several years experience in administrating Linux/Unix systems.
• Excellent knowledge of Linux and Unix Operating Systems.
• Practical experience with large business critical environments.
• Experience with standard services (NIS, NFS, DNS), disk and volume management, security, networking.
• Experience in Shell and Perl scripting.
• Experience in IT project work, concept and feasibility studies.
• English is mandatory, German desired.
